Africa, These Minerals Belong To Us

The West is underpinned by the wealth that has been extracted from Africa.

For Zambia to get to 3Mtpa, you need 800ktpa to come from Independent Projects.

From MRE, PFS, BFS, PF; it will take USD12-15bn.

However, when these projects come into production – they will be throwing off that much in FCF in 2yrs.

And that is before I talk of the valuation uplift bn MRE, PFS, BFS, PF, Production.

Zambia should be focusing the Resources on that – and you can collate the entire capital from Zambia, South Africa (not foreign capital – money that belongs to the teacher or nurse in the village), Botswana (money that belong to Batswana).

Africa is wealthy – time we wake up to this FACT and use it accordingly!

Let us Unapologetically Prioritise US first.

In Setswana, we go “re ketlane renne ngatana ele ngwe” – we saw this with the bantustan of Bophuthatswana (what is now North West and parts of Gauteng and Northern Cape – parts of it were actually what used to be Botswana) – no resources at all – but communities coming together to build themselves…

…where Royal Bafokeng came from – I still even have the Implats Royalty to Equity Conversion model – how I spent part of my tutelage…

…so I know it can be done and I saw (and involved) how even Australia made such as huge success of it!

There were periods when I asked myself “should I have gone to a megafund” – but deep down knowing that, somehow the path I took was the right one…

…I dont see how I could be working on what we are working on at a megafund – I would be making “easy money” but it would not be catalytic one bit (that, you die and that is it – no contribution at all to the continent).

The solutions are there, we are working on them!!
