By Ceaser Siwale, Executive Director

Pangaea Securities proudly stood as a beacon of excellence at the prestigious 12th Private Equity Africa (PEA) Awards in 2024, receiving multiple accolades for its groundbreaking advisory services. Recognized for its transformative role in Africa’s capital markets, Pangaea’s innovative approach to complex transactions has cemented its reputation as a trailblazer.

Highlighted Achievements

At the center of Pangaea’s accomplishments was the landmark $375 million sale of a 34.64% stake in Copperbelt Energy Corporation PLC (CEC), completed in December 2023. This pioneering transaction not only showcased Zambia’s capital market maturity but also introduced Africa’s inaugural Continuation Vehicle, a structure that ensured seamless transitions for exiting and incoming investors. Today, the value of CEC has more than doubled, standing at $820 million, underscoring the strategic importance and success of this deal.

For these efforts, Pangaea was celebrated at the PEA 2024 Annual Decade Awards with:

  1. Single Deal Financial Advisor of the Year – Honoring the firm’s pivotal role in executing Africa’s first Continuation Vehicle structure.
  2. Decade Awards: Frontier Advisor – Recognizing a decade of significant contributions to African capital markets.
  3. Local Advisor: Corporate Services – Celebrating the firm’s exceptional ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.

Commitment to Excellence

As Africa’s capital markets evolve, Pangaea Securities continues to lead the charge. Its commitment to innovation, transparency, and stakeholder value solidifies its place as a key driver of economic growth, not just in Zambia but across the continent.

These awards reflect the dedication of the entire Pangaea team and its unwavering pursuit of excellence, inspiring confidence in Zambia’s growing prominence as a hub for impactful investment.
